Inspections/Investigations

Structural forensic investigation requires the knowledge of structural behavior under applied loading conditions, years of experience in the field and the specialized training to identify and understand the signs provided by the failed or failing structure.

Structural Engineering Assessments has been performing forensic investigations since becoming incorporated in 1989. Projects include reviews of structures damaged by fires, collapses resulting from poor maintenance and upkeep, hurricanes, failures from excessive gravity loads, collapses from improperly designed and constructed elements, as well as, impacts from automobiles, trucks and trains. The majority of the forensic investigations end with the written report, however; some continue into a court of law. While our objective is to keep the client out of the court room, we are always ready to prepare for the role of expert witness when situation arises.
